    <main style="-uslm-dtd:legis-body"><longTitle><docTitle style="-uslm-dtd:legis-type">AN ACT</docTitle><officialTitle style="-uslm-dtd:official-title">To allow acceleration certificates awarded under the Patents for Humanity Program to be transferable.</officialTitle></longTitle><enactingFormula style="-uslm-dtd:enacting-clause">Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,</enactingFormula>
        <section style="-uslm-dtd:section" identifier="/us/sComp/116/316/s1" styleType="OLC">
            <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="1">SECTION 1. </num><editorialNote style="-uslm-dtd:usc-reference" role="uscRef"><b>[</b><ref href="/us/usc/t35/s131">35 U.S.C. 131 note</ref><b>]</b> </editorialNote><heading style="-uslm-dtd:header">SHORT TITLE. </heading>
            <content style="-uslm-dtd:text" class="block">  This Act may be cited as the “<shortTitle style="-uslm-dtd:quote">Patents for Humanity Program Improvement Act</shortTitle>”. </content>
        </section>
        <section style="-uslm-dtd:section" identifier="/us/sComp/116/316/s2" styleType="OLC">
            <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="2">SEC. 2. </num><heading style="-uslm-dtd:header">TRANSFERABILITY OF ACCELERATION CERTIFICATES. </heading>
            <subsection style="-uslm-dtd:subsection" identifier="/us/sComp/116/316/s2/a" styleType="OLC">
                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="a">(a) </num><heading style="-uslm-dtd:header">In General.—</heading><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">A holder of an acceleration certificate issued pursuant to the Patents for Humanity Program (established in the notice entitled “Humanitarian Awards Pilot Program”, published at 77 Fed. Reg. 6544 (February 8, 2012)), or any successor thereto, of the United States Patent and Trademark Office, may transfer (including by sale) the entitlement to such acceleration certificate to another person. </content>
            </subsection>
            <subsection style="-uslm-dtd:subsection" identifier="/us/sComp/116/316/s2/b" styleType="OLC">
                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="b">(b) </num><heading style="-uslm-dtd:header">Requirement.—</heading><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">An acceleration certificate transferred under subsection (a) shall be subject to any other applicable limitations under the notice entitled “Humanitarian Awards Pilot Program”, published at 77 Fed. Reg. 6544 (February 8, 2012), or any successor thereto. </content>
            </subsection>
