AN ACTMaking appropriations for the Legislative Branch for the fiscal year ending September 30, 1993, and for other purposes.Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,That the following sums are appropriated, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the Legislative Branch for the fiscal year ending September 30, 1993, and for other purposes, namely:

<heading style="-uslm-dtd:header">Administrative Provisions </heading>
<num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="101">Sec. 101. </num><editorialNote role="uscRef" style="-uslm-dtd:usc-reference"><b>[</b><ref href="/us/usc/t2/s5507">2 U.S.C. 5507</ref><b>]</b> </editorialNote><subsection class="inline" identifier="/us/sComp/102/392/tI/s101/a" style="-uslm-dtd:subsection" styleType="OLC"><num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="a">(a) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">Amounts appropriated for any fiscal year for the House of Representatives under the heading “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">ALLOWANCES AND EXPENSES</quotedText>” may be transferred among and merged with the various categories of allowances and expenses under such heading, effective upon the expiration of the 21-day period (or such alternative period that may be imposed by the Committee on Appropriations of the House of Representatives) which begins on the date such Committee has been notified of the transfer.</content></subsection>
<subsection identifier="/us/sComp/102/392/tI/s101/b" style="-uslm-dtd:subsection" styleType="OLC">
<num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="b">(b) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">Amounts appropriated for any fiscal year for the House of Representatives under the heading “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">SALARIES, OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES</quotedText>” may be transferred among and merged with the various offices and activities under such heading, effective upon the expiration of the 21-day period (or such alternative period that may be imposed by the Committee on Appropriations of the House of Representatives) which begins on the date such Committee has been notified of the transfer.</content>

<num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="c">(c)</num><paragraph class="inline" identifier="/us/sComp/102/392/tI/s101/c/1" style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" styleType="OLC"><num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="1">(1) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">Amounts appropriated for any fiscal year for the House of Representatives under the headings specified in paragraph (2) may be transferred among and merged with such headings, effective upon the expiration of the 21-day period (or such alternative period that may be imposed by the Committee on Appropriations of the House of Representatives) which begins on the date such Committee has been notified of the transfer.</content></paragraph>

<num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="2">(2) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">The headings referred to in paragraph (1) are “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">House Leadership Offices</quotedText>”, “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">Members’ Representational Allowances</quotedText>”, “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">Committee Employees</quotedText>”, “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">Salaries, Officers and Employees</quotedText>”, “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">Allowances and Expenses</quotedText>”, the heading for any joint committee under the heading “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">Joint Items</quotedText>” (to the extent that amounts appropriated for the joint committee are disbursed by the Chief Administrative Officer of the House of Representatives), “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">Office of the Attending Physician</quotedText>”, “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">Allowance for Compensation of Interns in Member Offices</quotedText>”, “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">Allowance for Compensation of Interns in House Appropriations Committee Offices</quotedText>”, “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">Allowance for Compensation of Interns in House Standing, Special and Select Committee Offices</quotedText>”, and “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">Allowance for Compensation of Interns in House Leadership Offices</quotedText>”.</content>

<subsection identifier="/us/sComp/102/392/tI/s101/d" style="-uslm-dtd:subsection" styleType="OLC">
<num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="d">(d) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">Amounts appropriated for any fiscal year for the House of Representatives under the heading “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">Allowances and Expenses</quotedText>” may be transferred to the Architect of the Capitol and merged with and made available under the heading “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">House Office Buildings</quotedText>”, subject to the approval of the Committee on Appropriations of the House of Representatives.</content>
</subsection>
<subsection identifier="/us/sComp/102/392/tI/s101/e" style="-uslm-dtd:subsection" styleType="OLC">
<num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="e">(e) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">Amounts appropriated for any fiscal year for the House of Representatives under any heading other than the heading “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">Members’ Representational Allowances</quotedText>” may be transferred to the Architect of the Capitol and merged with and made available under the heading “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">House Historic Buildings Revitalization Trust Fund</quotedText>”, subject to the approval of the Committee on Appropriations of the House of Representatives.</content>

<subsection identifier="/us/sComp/102/392/tI/s101/f" style="-uslm-dtd:subsection" styleType="OLC">
<num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="f">(f) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">Amounts appropriated for any fiscal year for the House of Representatives under the heading “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">House Leadership Offices</quotedText>” may be transferred among and merged with the various offices and activities under such heading, effective upon the expiration of the 21-day period (or such alternative period that may be imposed by the Committee on Appropriations of the House of Representatives) which begins on the date such Committee has been notified of the transfer.</content>
