    <main style="-uslm-dtd:legis-body"><longTitle><docTitle style="-uslm-dtd:legis-type">AN ACT</docTitle><officialTitle style="-uslm-dtd:official-title">To authorize the Secretary of the Interior to conduct a special resource study of Fort Ontario in the State of New York.</officialTitle></longTitle><enactingFormula style="-uslm-dtd:enacting-clause">Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,</enactingFormula>
        <section style="-uslm-dtd:section" identifier="/us/sComp/115/255/s1" styleType="OLC">
            <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="1">SECTION 1. </num><heading style="-uslm-dtd:header">SHORT TITLE. </heading><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">This Act may be cited as the “<shortTitle style="-uslm-dtd:quote">Fort Ontario Study Act</shortTitle>”.</content>
        </section>
        <section style="-uslm-dtd:section" identifier="/us/sComp/115/255/s2" styleType="OLC" role="definitions">
            <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="2">SEC. 2. </num><heading style="-uslm-dtd:header">DEFINITIONS. </heading><chapeau style="-uslm-dtd:text">In this Act:</chapeau>
            <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" identifier="/us/sComp/115/255/s2/1" styleType="OLC">
                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="1">(1) </num><heading style="-uslm-dtd:header">Secretary.—</heading><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">The term “<term style="-uslm-dtd:quote">Secretary</term>” means the Secretary of the Interior.</content>
            </paragraph>
            <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" identifier="/us/sComp/115/255/s2/2" styleType="OLC">
                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="2">(2) </num><heading style="-uslm-dtd:header">Study area.—</heading><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">The term “<term style="-uslm-dtd:quote">study area</term>” means Fort Ontario in Oswego, New York.</content>
            </paragraph>
        </section>
        <section style="-uslm-dtd:section" identifier="/us/sComp/115/255/s3" styleType="OLC">
            <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="3">SEC. 3. </num><heading style="-uslm-dtd:header">FORT ONTARIO SPECIAL RESOURCE STUDY. </heading>
            <subsection style="-uslm-dtd:subsection" identifier="/us/sComp/115/255/s3/a" styleType="OLC">
                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="a">(a) </num><heading style="-uslm-dtd:header">In General.—</heading><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">The Secretary shall conduct a special resource study of the study area.</content>
            </subsection>
            <subsection style="-uslm-dtd:subsection" identifier="/us/sComp/115/255/s3/b" styleType="OLC">
                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="b">(b) </num><heading style="-uslm-dtd:header">Contents.—</heading><chapeau style="-uslm-dtd:text">In conducting the study under subsection (a), the Secretary shall—</chapeau>
                <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" identifier="/us/sComp/115/255/s3/b/1" styleType="OLC">
                    <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="1">(1) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">evaluate the national significance of the study area;</content>
                </paragraph>
                <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" identifier="/us/sComp/115/255/s3/b/2" styleType="OLC">
                    <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="2">(2) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">determine the suitability and feasibility of designating the study area as a unit of the National Park System;</content>
                </paragraph>
                <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" identifier="/us/sComp/115/255/s3/b/3" styleType="OLC">
                    <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="3">(3) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">consider other alternatives for preservation, protection, and interpretation of the study area by the Federal Government, State or local government entities, or private and nonprofit organizations;</content>
                </paragraph>
                <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" identifier="/us/sComp/115/255/s3/b/4" styleType="OLC">
                    <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="4">(4) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">consult with interested Federal agencies, State or local governmental entities, private and nonprofit organizations, or any other interested individuals; and</content>
                </paragraph>
                <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" identifier="/us/sComp/115/255/s3/b/5" styleType="OLC">
                    <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="5">(5) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">identify cost estimates for any Federal acquisition, development, interpretation, operation, and maintenance associated with the alternatives.</content>
                </paragraph>
            </subsection>
            <subsection style="-uslm-dtd:subsection" identifier="/us/sComp/115/255/s3/c" styleType="OLC">
                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="c">(c) </num><heading style="-uslm-dtd:header">Applicable Law.—</heading><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">The study required under subsection (a) shall be conducted in accordance with section 100507 of title 54, United States Code.</content>
            </subsection>
            <subsection style="-uslm-dtd:subsection" identifier="/us/sComp/115/255/s3/d" styleType="OLC">
                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="d">(d) </num><heading style="-uslm-dtd:header">Report.—</heading><chapeau style="-uslm-dtd:text">Not later than 3 years after the date on which funds are first made available to carry out the study under subsection (a), the Secretary shall submit to the Committee on Natural Resources of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources of the Senate a report that describes—</chapeau>
                <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" identifier="/us/sComp/115/255/s3/d/1" styleType="OLC">
                    <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="1">(1) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">the results of the study; and</content>
                </paragraph>
                <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" identifier="/us/sComp/115/255/s3/d/2" styleType="OLC">
                    <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="2">(2) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">any conclusions and recommendations of the Secretary.</content>
                </paragraph>
            </subsection>
