    <main style="-uslm-dtd:legis-body"><longTitle><docTitle style="-uslm-dtd:legis-type">AN ACT</docTitle><officialTitle style="-uslm-dtd:official-title">To designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 6 Nichols Street in Westminster, Massachusetts, as the "Lieutenant Ryan Patrick Jones Post Office Building".</officialTitle></longTitle><enactingFormula style="-uslm-dtd:enacting-clause">Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,</enactingFormula>
        <section style="-uslm-dtd:section" identifier="/us/sComp/112/280/s1" styleType="OLC">
            <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="1">SECTION 1. </num><heading style="-uslm-dtd:header">SHORT TITLE. </heading>
            <content style="-uslm-dtd:text" class="block">This Act may be cited as the “<shortTitle style="-uslm-dtd:quote"><inline style="-uslm-dtd:short-title">Lieutenant Ryan Patrick Jones Post Office Designation Act</inline></shortTitle>”.</content>
        </section>
        <section style="-uslm-dtd:section" identifier="/us/sComp/112/280/s2" styleType="OLC">
            <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="2">SEC. 2. </num><heading style="-uslm-dtd:header">FINDINGS. </heading>
            <chapeau style="-uslm-dtd:text" class="block">Congress finds the following:</chapeau>
            <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" identifier="/us/sComp/112/280/s2/1" styleType="OLC">
                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="1">(1) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">First Lieutenant Ryan Patrick Jones volunteered to serve the United States in the Army.</content>
            </paragraph>
            <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" identifier="/us/sComp/112/280/s2/2" styleType="OLC">
                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="2">(2) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">Lieutenant Jones earned his rank, the Army Achievement Medal, the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star, the Iraqi Freedom Medal, the Combat Action Badge, and the War on Terrorism Badge through his dedication to the highest ideals of the United States.</content>
            </paragraph>
            <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" identifier="/us/sComp/112/280/s2/3" styleType="OLC">
                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="3">(3) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">Lieutenant Jones chose from a young age to generously volunteer his talents to his community, and was recognized with academic, social, and athletic leadership positions throughout his life.</content>
            </paragraph>
            <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" identifier="/us/sComp/112/280/s2/4" styleType="OLC">
                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="4">(4) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">Lieutenant Jones committed himself to excellence in all aspects of his life, including earning a Bachelor of Science degree, with honors, in civil and environmental engineering.</content>
            </paragraph>
            <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" identifier="/us/sComp/112/280/s2/5" styleType="OLC">
                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="5">(5) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">While earning his engineering degree at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Lieutenant Jones was awarded a Reserve Officers’ Training Corps scholarship.</content>
            </paragraph>
            <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" identifier="/us/sComp/112/280/s2/6" styleType="OLC">
                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="6">(6) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">Lieutenant Jones faithfully and expertly led his fellow soldiers as a platoon leader in the Army’s First Infantry Division while deployed to Iraq in 2007.</content>
            </paragraph>
            <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" identifier="/us/sComp/112/280/s2/7" styleType="OLC">
                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="7">(7) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">Lieutenant Jones made the ultimate sacrifice for the United States on May 2, 2007, when he was killed in action by an improvised explosive device set by the enemy.</content>
            </paragraph>
            <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" identifier="/us/sComp/112/280/s2/8" styleType="OLC">
                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="8">(8) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">Lieutenant Jones’ life of service, courage, and honor was made possible by his dedicated parents, Mr. Kevin Jones and Mrs. Elaine Jones, who reside in Westminster, Massachusetts.</content>
            </paragraph>
            <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" identifier="/us/sComp/112/280/s2/9" styleType="OLC">
                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="9">(9) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">Mr. and Mrs. Jones organized the shipment of supplies to soldiers serving alongside their son, thereby supporting the morale of the members of the Armed Forces.</content>
            </paragraph>
            <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" identifier="/us/sComp/112/280/s2/10" styleType="OLC">
                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="10">(10) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">Before entering combat, Lieutenant Jones made arrangements to ensure that his life insurance policy proceeds  would become a scholarship fund to benefit others, a request that Mr. and Mrs. Jones fulfilled.</content>
            </paragraph>
            <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" identifier="/us/sComp/112/280/s2/11" styleType="OLC">
                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="11">(11) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">Lieutenant Jones is remembered by his family, his friends, and the people of the United States as a role model for his fellow citizens to emulate.</content>
            </paragraph>
            <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" identifier="/us/sComp/112/280/s2/12" styleType="OLC">
                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="12">(12) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">Lieutenant Jones’ spirit of generosity has been commemorated by organizations ranging from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to the Boston Celtics.</content>
            </paragraph>
            <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" identifier="/us/sComp/112/280/s2/13" styleType="OLC">
                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="13">(13) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">It is fitting that the life of Lieutenant Jones should be further memorialized for future generations by naming the post office in Westminster, Massachusetts, in his honor.</content>
            </paragraph>
        </section>
        <section style="-uslm-dtd:section" identifier="/us/sComp/112/280/s3" styleType="OLC">
            <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="3">SEC. 3. </num><heading style="-uslm-dtd:header">LIEUTENANT RYAN PATRICK JONES POST OFFICE BUILDING. </heading>
            <subsection style="-uslm-dtd:subsection" identifier="/us/sComp/112/280/s3/a" styleType="OLC">
                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="a">(a) </num><heading style="-uslm-dtd:header">Designation.—</heading><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">The facility of the United States Postal Service located at 6 Nichols Street in Westminster, Massachusetts, shall be known and designated as the “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">Lieutenant Ryan Patrick Jones Post Office Building</quotedText>”.</content>
            </subsection>
            <subsection style="-uslm-dtd:subsection" identifier="/us/sComp/112/280/s3/b" styleType="OLC">
                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="b">(b) </num><heading style="-uslm-dtd:header">References.—</heading><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">Any reference in a law, map, regulation, document, paper, or other record of the United States to the facility referred to in subsection (a) shall be deemed to be a reference to the “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">Lieutenant Ryan Patrick Jones Post Office Building</quotedText>”.</content>
            </subsection>
