The Committee met, pursuant to notice, at 12:00 p.m., in
Room 219, United States Capitol, Hon. Roy Blunt, Chairman of
the Committee, presiding
Present: Senators Blunt, Alexander, Cochran, Shelby, Moore
Capito, Wicker, Schumer, Durbin, Warner, Klobuchar, King.
Staff present: Stacy McBride, Staff Director; Shaun Parkin,
Deputy Staff Director; Paul Vinovich, Chief Counsel; Jeff

OPENING STATEMENT OF HONORABLE ROY BLUNT, CHAIRMAN, A U.S.
SENATOR FROM THE STATE OF MISSOURI
Chairman Blunt. We have the necessary Members present. The
Committee will come to order. We need to do two things today--
Senator Schumer and I are recommending the adoption of the
Committee Rules of Procedure and an original resolution which
will authorize funding for the Committee during the 114th
Congress. Senator Schumer and I are recommending no changes to
the Committee Rules from the previous Congress, and the
Committee's funding authorization is comparable to the
allocation for fiscal year 2014. I would like to recognize
Senator Schumer for any remarks he might like to make.
Senator Schumer. I would like to thank the Chairman and
compliment him on his outstanding and speedy start.
Chairman Blunt. I move we adopt the Committee Rules of
Procedure for the 114th Congress. Is there a second?
Senator Cochran. Second.
Chairman Blunt. All those in favor, say aye.
[Chorus of ayes.]
Chairman Blunt. All those opposed, say no.
Chairman Blunt. The ayes have it. The Committee Rules are
adopted.
Now on the budget. I move that we adopt the authorizing
resolution for the Rules Committee budget. Senator Schumer, is
there a second?
Senator Schumer. Second.
Chairman Blunt. All those in favor, say aye.
[Chorus of ayes]
Chairman Blunt. All those opposed, say no.
Chairman Blunt. The ayes have it. The resolution is
reported.
Chairman Schumer. Any other things that need to come before
the Committee? The Committee is adjourned, thank you all.
[Whereupon, at 12:11 p.m., the Committee was adjourned.]
