Group; served on Charleston County Council, 1995-2008; four terms as 
chair of the Charleston County Council; member of the South Carolina 
State House of Representatives, 2009-10; member of the U.S. House of 
Representatives 2010-12; committees: Armed Services; Banking, Housing, 
and Urban Affairs; Finance; Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions;
