vacancy caused by the resignation of Senator Joseph R. Biden, Jr. He
took the oath of office on November 15, 2010, replacing appointed
Senator Ted Kaufman.
\3\ Contested election was resolved June 30, 2009; Senator Franken was
sworn into office on July 7, 2009.
\4\ Senator Inhofe won the special election held on November 8, 1994, to
fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Senator David Boren, and
took the oath of office on November 17, 1994. He was elected to a full
term in 1996.
\5\ Representative Markey resigned to become a Senator; elected to the
U.S. Senate in a special election on June 25, 2013, to fill the

term commencing January 3, 1985; did not take his seat until January
15, 1985.
\3\ Senator Feinstein was elected on November 3, 1992, to fill the
vacancy caused by the resignation of Senator Pete Wilson. She replaced
appointed Senator John Seymour when she took the oath of office on
November 10, 1992. She was elected to a full term in 1994.

fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Senator David Boren, and
took the oath of office on November 17, 1994. He was elected to a full

Senator Coleman was resolved by Minnesota's Supreme Court on June 30,
2009. Franken was sworn into office on July 7, 2009. The Senate seat
had remained vacant from January 3 until July 6.

the vacancy caused by the resignation of Senator Joseph Biden, Jr.
Coons took the oath of office on November 15, 2010, replacing
