Board of Trustees, 1967-69; elected: Nevada State Assembly, 1969-70; 
Lieutenant Governor, State of Nevada, 1970-74; served, executive 
committee, National Conference of Lieutenant Governors; chairman, Nevada 
Gaming Commission, 1977-81; member: Nevada State, Clark County and 
American bar associations; married the former Landra Gould in 1959; five 
children: Lana, Rory, Leif, Josh, and Key; elected to the 98th Congress 
on November 2, 1982 and reelected to the 99th Congress; elected to the 
U.S. Senate on November 4, 1986; reelected November 3, 1992, and 
November 3, 1998; committees: Appropriations; Environment and Public 
Works; Chairman, Select Committee on Ethics; Special Committee on Aging; 
Indian Affairs; Assistant Majority Leader.
