author of ``Fox Two,'' on his experiences as a naval aviator, and 
produced ``Top Gun--The Story Behind the Story'' video about his career 
as a fighter pilot instructor at Miramar NAS; joined the Navy at the age 
of 25 and became one of the most highly decorated fighter pilots in the 
Vietnam War; retired in 1987 with the rank of commander; married the
