UNANIMOUS CONSENT AGREEMENT
S. 1963 (ORDER NO. 190)
Ordered, That upon the conclusion of Morning Business on Thursday,
November 19, 2009, the Senate proceed to the consideration of S. 1963, a
bill to amend title 38, United States Code, to provide assistance to
caregivers of veterans, to improve the provision of health care to
veterans, and for other purposes; provided, that general debate on the
bill be limited to 30 minutes, equally divided and controlled between
the Senator from Hawaii (Mr. Akaka) and the Senator from North Carolina
(Mr. Burr), or their designees; provided further, that the only
amendment in order be Amdt. No. 2875, offered by the Senator from
Oklahoma (Mr. Coburn); further, that debate on the amendment be limited
to three hours, with two hours under the control of the Senator from
Oklahoma (Mr. Coburn) and 60 minutes under the control of the Senator
from Hawaii (Mr. Akaka) or his designee.
Ordered further, That upon the disposition of the nomination of
David Hamilton and the Senate resuming legislative session, there be two
minutes of debate prior to a vote in relation to Amdt. No. 2875;
provided, that upon the use of that time, the Senate proceed to vote in
relation to the amendment; further, that upon disposition of the
amendment, the bill, as amended, if amended, be read a third time, and
the Senate then proceed to vote on passage of the bill. (Nov. 17, 18,
