Commending and congratulating the Pennsylvania State University Nittany Lions men’s wrestling team for winning the 2026 National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I National Championship.

Whereas the sport of wrestling has an enduring positive impact on the lives of wrestlers, fostering values such as perseverance, discipline, courage, responsibility, and respect;

Whereas Pennsylvania State University has long exemplified greatness in the sport of wrestling;

Whereas the Pennsylvania State University Nittany Lions men’s wrestling team won the 2026 National Collegiate Athletic Association (in this preamble, referred to as the “NCAA”) Division I National Championship, which is their fifth consecutive championship;

Whereas the Pennsylvania State University Nittany Lions men’s wrestling team has won 13 NCAA Division I National Championships since 2011;

Whereas every member of the Pennsylvania State University Nittany Lions men’s wrestling team contributed to the successful 2026 championship season; and

Whereas the coaches and staff of the Pennsylvania State University Nittany Lions men’s wrestling team played a vital role in their success during the 2026 season: Now, therefore, be it

Resolved, That the Senate—

(1) congratulates the Pennsylvania State University Nittany Lions men’s wrestling team for winning the 2026 National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I National Championship;

(2) recognizes the dedication, teamwork, and perseverance of the student-athletes, coaches, and staff of the Pennsylvania State University Nittany Lions men’s wrestling team who contributed to this extraordinary achievement; and

(3) commends the Pennsylvania State University Nittany Lions men’s wrestling team for continuing the tradition of excellence and leadership in collegiate wrestling.
