A BILL
To amend the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency
Assistance Act to adjust the time period for the eligibility of certain
base and overtime wages associated with the repair, restoration, and
replacement of damaged facilities.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the ``Reducing Red Tape for Rebuilding
Act''.
SEC. 2. AMENDMENT.
Section 406(a)(2)(D) of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and
Emergency Assistance Act (42 U.S.C. 5172(a)(2)(D)) is amended to read
as follows:
``(D) base and overtime wages for extra hires
utilized for substantial damage determinations
occurring within 180 days after the major disaster is
declared or, for all other activities to facilitate the
implementation and enforcement of adopted building
codes, for a period of not more than 2 years after a
date selected by the recipient of the relevant
contribution.''.
