A BILL

To cap the amount authorized to be appropriated for the national defense budget for fiscal year 2027 at $750,000,000,000.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. Short title.

This Act may be cited as the “Slash the Pentagon Act”.

SEC. 2. Limitation on amounts authorized to be appropriated for the national defense budget for fiscal year 2027.

(a) In general.—Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the amount authorized to be appropriated for the national defense budget for fiscal year 2027 is not more than $750,000,000,000.

(b) Funding for certain accounts.—In reducing funding for the national defense budget in accordance with the limitation set under subsection (a), the Secretary of Defense shall not reduce amounts authorized to be appropriated for fiscal year 2027 for—

(1) the Defense Health Program; or

(2) military personnel accounts.
