<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>119th CONGRESS</congress><session>2d Session</session><legis-num>S. 4687</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20260604">June 4, 2026</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S404">Mr. Scott of Florida</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSGA00">Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To designate Tiananmen Square Memorial Boulevard in Washington, District of Columbia, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body><section id="S1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Tiananmen Square Memorial Act of 2026</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="idd960cde7e10a43ce8dfaa736b9c424f6"><enum>2.</enum><header>Designation of Tiananmen Square Memorial Boulevard</header><subsection id="idd4dcc04b852e41a78c761e2568f24cd0"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Designation of boulevard</header><paragraph id="ida8919135fb8f4bd7808fce36c8ffb357"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In general</header><text>The area along International Place Northwest between 3501 International Place Northwest and 3507 International Place Northwest in Washington, District of Columbia, shall be known and designated as <quote>Tiananmen Square Memorial Boulevard</quote>.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="iddfbe15aa400343c6b0b95382bd0d3026"><enum>(2)</enum><header>References</header><text>Any reference in a law, map, regulation, document, paper, or other record of the United States to the area referred to in paragraph (1) shall be deemed to be a reference to Tiananmen Square Memorial Boulevard.</text></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="idb1adf3eec87348ae9966968354edd567"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Designation of address</header><paragraph id="id93ee08555e0e4c8aa62980a60afdd67b"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Designation</header><text>The address of 3505 International Place Northwest, Washington, District of Columbia, shall be redesignated as 1 Tiananmen Square Memorial Boulevard.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id93255d8fdc7640619c12228c2700878a"><enum>(2)</enum><header>References</header><text>Any reference in a law, map, regulation, document, paper, or other record of the United States to the address referred to in paragraph (1) shall be deemed to be a reference to 1 Tiananmen Square Memorial Boulevard.</text></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="ide2df11710564406586215c5b4b9160ff"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Signs</header><text>The Administrator of General Services shall construct street signs that shall—</text><paragraph id="idc3db300fcee8460fa6ace28e80436bb9"><enum>(1)</enum><text>contain the phrase <quote>Tiananmen Square Memorial Boulevard</quote>;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="ida6199e0d184142b481523ed488391b66"><enum>(2)</enum><text>be similar in design to the signs used by the District of Columbia to designate the location of Metro stations; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id3aba15f6011648bc858f0ac5eb56c9fe"><enum>(3)</enum><text>be placed on—</text><subparagraph id="idfe0e9f06311748abb93e317b4df58626"><enum>(A)</enum><text>the parcel of Federal property that is closest to 1 Tiananmen Square Memorial Boulevard (as redesignated by subsection (b)(1)); and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="id0064d899939242ffbb3ff45bb85f1aa8"><enum>(B)</enum><text>the street corners of International Drive Northwest and Van Ness Street Northwest and International Drive Northwest and International Place Northwest in Washington, District of Columbia.</text></subparagraph></paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
