<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>119th CONGRESS</congress><session>2d Session</session><legis-num>S. 4354</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20260421">April 21, 2026</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S361">Ms. Hirono</sponsor> (for herself and <cosponsor name-id="S259">Mr. Reed</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSCM00">Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To amend title 49, United States Code, to allow certain funds to be used for incremental costs of incorporating art into facilities, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body style="OLC" display-enacting-clause="yes-display-enacting-clause" id="H3E5B6C5FB0A14AA2A3CF143FDE351853"><section section-type="section-one" id="H90F9CE29F79641AE8B0BAF83C7DD851C"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Saving Transit Art Resources Act</short-title></quote> or the <quote><short-title>STAR Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section section-type="subsequent-section" id="H2DF9196C884E406C95A9F1D81BBD1387"><enum>2.</enum><header>Allowing art</header><subsection id="H5EB0BB2596254455910ECF013A315955"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 5323(h) of title 49, United States Code, is amended—</text><paragraph id="H16B8CD64F01345D8889139CAA2BA4F4B"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in paragraph (1), by inserting <quote>or</quote> after the semicolon;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H394B92DA99584AAC8FC9F470105A09FA"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking paragraph (2); and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H655A1DB9A5384B848CB82A7E7FA0E070"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by redesignating paragraph (3) as paragraph (2).</text></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H2A3787F173A848D3836F2D092A3B4A50"><enum>(b)</enum><header>No special rule</header><text>Section 5309 of title 49, United States Code, is amended—</text><paragraph id="H3B0E569F95B649589FB8D73C8526C2D7"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking subsection (p); and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H9E481C803D6A47AC944D94667221AE06"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by redesignating subsections (q) and (r) as subsections (p) and (q), respectively.</text></paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
