 >Committee on Intelligence</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To extend section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 for 18 months.</official-title></form><legis-body><section id="idddd2a172a8834b0d9c0886fe147cdac6" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Extension of section 702 authority for 18 months</header><subsection id="idebf79325f60340d7a520df32b4f35de6"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Effective dates</header><text>Section 403(b) of the FISA Amendments Act of 2008 (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/110/261">Public Law 110–261</external-xref>; 122 Stat. 2474) is amended—</text><paragraph id="idae4e7b56db104f2da4c99a633e87ad94"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in paragraph (1) (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/50/1881">50 U.S.C. 1881</external-xref> note), by striking <quote>two years after the date of enactment of the Reforming Intelligence and Securing America Act</quote> and inserting <quote>on October 20, 2027</quote>; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="idc02380e668934f37b0d6607fc3b375b7"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in paragraph (2) (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/18/2511">18 U.S.C. 2511</external-xref> note), in the matter preceding subparagraph (A), by striking <quote>two years after the date of enactment of the Reforming Intelligence and Securing America Act</quote> and inserting <quote>on October 20, 2027</quote>.</text></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="id4ee49afa89104a3e99de85e1e24b7b0c"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Conforming amendment</header><text>Section 404(b)(1) of the FISA Amendments Act of 2008 (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/110/261">Public Law 110–261</external-xref>; 122 Stat. 2476), is amended, in the heading, by striking <quote><header-in-text level="paragraph" style="OLC">two years after the date of enactment of the Reforming Intelligence and Securing America Act</header-in-text></quote> and inserting <quote><header-in-text level="paragraph" style="OLC">October 20, 2027</header-in-text></quote>;</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
