To reestablish the National Coal Council in the Department of Energy to provide advice and recommendations to the Secretary of Energy on matters relating to coal and the coal industry, and for other purposes.

To reestablish the National Coal Council in the Department of Energy to provide advice and recommendations to the Secretary of Energy on matters relating to coal and the coal industry, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
This Act may be cited as the “National Coal Council Act of 2025”.
SEC. 2. National Coal Council.
(a) In general.—The Secretary of Energy shall reestablish the National Coal Council, in accordance with the charter for the National Coal Council (as filed with Congress on June 16, 2025).
(b) Applicability of the Federal Advisory Committee Act.—Chapter 10 of title 5, United States Code (commonly known as the “Federal Advisory Committee Act”) (except for section 1013 of that title), shall apply to the National Coal Council.
