<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>119th CONGRESS</congress><session>1st Session</session><legis-num>S. 2297</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20250717">July 16, 2025</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S404">Mr. Scott of Florida</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSJU00">Committee on the Judiciary</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to include subjection to a foreign intelligence security law as a ground of inadmissibility and deportability.</official-title></form><legis-body><section id="id9689a9f63b9e4a3896567cb01b37499f" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Preventing Intelligence Gathering from Foreign Adversaries Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section section-type="subsequent-section" commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id2efcb6158abc4ec7871db04b0c7e2b8a"><enum>2.</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Subjection to foreign intelligence security law as grounds of inadmissibility and deportability</header><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idcf83a7d65a9f4d158c7cf2521ce66b46"><enum>(a)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Inadmissibility</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 212(a)(3) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/8/1182">8 U.S.C. 1182(a)(3)</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idfbc2e1a183644cd8bf6125847e0334e6"><subparagraph id="idb8f70b11f16740a98b8812da549ce871"><enum>(H)</enum><header>Subjection to foreign intelligence security law</header><text>Any alien who is subject to a law of any foreign country that requires such alien to provide access to, cooperation with, or support for, the intelligence-gathering activities or operations of such county is inadmissible.</text></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id0cb7b1022d2141d496f429465817aeb0"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Deportability</header><text>Section 237(a)(4) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/8/1227">8 U.S.C. 1227(a)(4)</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id9ef185ba823b47d6bbb3fdaf735f9e37"><subparagraph id="idfcd69d1d8d5b4b5c9be49ab449a9a7a8" commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>(G)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Subjection to foreign intelligence security law</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Any alien who is subject to a law of any foreign country that requires such alien to provide access to, cooperation with, or support for, the intelligence-gathering activities or operations of such county is deportable.</text></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
