<whereas><text>Whereas, on August 14, 1935, the Social Security Act was signed into law, establishing a landmark Federal program to provide economic security for elderly Americans;</text></whereas> <whereas><text>Whereas Social Security has contributed to the economic stability and dignity of older Americans for 9 decades; and</text></whereas> 
<whereas><text>Whereas the program remains a vital pillar of America’s social safety net and is supported by the hard work and contributions of American workers and employers: Now, therefore, be it</text></whereas> </preamble><resolution-body style="traditional" id="H05F567999DC5460E92A35BA4F6E1D2A0"> <section display-inline="yes-display-inline" section-type="undesignated-section" id="H86801024AADC4455A455646F93612A40"><text>That the House of Representatives supports the commemoration of the 90th anniversary of the Social Security Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/301">42 U.S.C. 301 et seq.</external-xref>).</text></section>
