Ms. Stefanik (for herself, Ms. Tenney, Mr. Hamadeh of Arizona, Mr. McCormick, Mr. Carter of Georgia, Mr. Bost, Mr. Fleischmann, Mr. McGuire, Mrs. Bice, Ms. Malliotakis, Mr. Scott Franklin of Florida, and Mr. Langworthy) submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform


RESOLUTION

Condemning the tragic act of violence that took place in New York City, honoring the lives of the victims of the attack, commending the bravery of the New York City Police Department, and condemning acts of violence against law enforcement officials.

Resolved, That the House of Representatives—

(1) condemns the senseless act of violence in New York City that tragically claimed the lives of 3 civilians and NYPD police officer Didarul Islam;

(2) honors the lives of the victims who were killed in the attack and expresses support and condolences for the families and loved ones of the victims;

(3) commends the bravery exhibited by Didarul Islam, Aland Etienne, and the entirety of the NYPD for the heroism they displayed in responding to and neutralizing the shooter; and

(4) condemns divisive rhetoric and violence against Federal, State, and local law enforcement officers and urges lawmakers to redouble their commitment to backing the blue.
