Mr. Gomez (for himself, Mr. Boyle of Pennsylvania, Mr. Carson, Mr. Castro of Texas, Mr. Deluzio, Mr. Figures, Mr. Goldman of New York, Mr. Kennedy of New York, Mr. Magaziner, Mr. McGarvey, Mr. Moulton, Ms. Norton, Mr. Subramanyam, Mr. Swalwell, Ms. Tlaib, Mr. Vargas, and Mr. Veasey) submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the Committee on Education and Workforce, and in addition to the Committee on Ways and Means, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned


RESOLUTION

Expressing support for the designation of Sunday, June 15, 2025, as “Father’s Day”.

Resolved, That the House of Representatives—

(1) recognizes the role of fathers in the United States;

(2) urges support for universal paid family and medical leave, affordable, accessible, high-quality child care, and a permanent, fully inclusive, monthly child tax credit;

(3) acknowledges that fathers can, and should, be celebrated and supported as an integral part of families, communities, workplaces, and society; and

(4) supports the designation of a “Father’s Day”.
