Mr. Carter of Georgia (for himself and Ms. Tenney) submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary


RESOLUTION

Condemning the Violent Attacks on Law Enforcement Officers and Military Servicemembers, and the Destruction of Personal Property in Los Angeles, California.

Resolved, That the House of Representatives—

(1) condemns in the strongest possible terms the actions and decisions of Governor Gavin Newsom and Mayor Karen Bass to obstruct Federal immigration enforcement and allow the continuation of unlawful sanctuary policies;

(2) denounces the acts of violence, arson, and civil unrest that occurred in Los Angeles, and affirms that such conduct constitutes a threat to public safety and national stability;

(3) affirms the constitutional duty of Federal agencies, including U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, to enforce immigration laws, and condemns any state or local government efforts to interfere with or undermine those duties; and

(4) supports the lawful prosecution of any individual, regardless of immigration status, who engages in acts of violence against Federal agents or law enforcement personnel.
