<whereas><text>Whereas there are 1,300,000 nonprofits across the United States that feed, heal, shelter, educate, nurture, and inspire people of all ages;</text></whereas> <whereas><text>Whereas nonprofit organizations are the Nation’s third-largest employer, employing more than 12,000,000 people and representing 5.6 percent of the United States overall gross domestic product;</text></whereas> 
<whereas><text>Whereas 92 percent of nonprofits are small and community-based, serving local needs;</text></whereas> <whereas><text>Whereas nonprofits are trusted community touchstones and allies in designing and implementing the work of government;</text></whereas> 
<whereas><text>Whereas, without nonprofit partners, Federal programs would be run less efficiently and require more taxpayer dollars; and</text></whereas> <whereas><text>Whereas August 17, 2026, would be an appropriate date to designate as <quote>National Nonprofit Day</quote>: Now, therefore, be it</text></whereas></preamble><resolution-body style="traditional" id="H4882A544107A4085AE145727DD5E883D"> 
<section display-inline="yes-display-inline" section-type="undesignated-section" id="HF16A140B3A2345C7B3812F3EE1F84934"><text>That the House of Representatives—</text> <paragraph id="H40711479E3E141FC834739A61DD78039"><enum>(1)</enum><text>recognizes the contributions of nonprofits and nonprofit workers;</text></paragraph>
<paragraph id="H77E09711870346D6815FE0DE1D8BAEFA"><enum>(2)</enum><text>supports the designation of <quote>National Nonprofit Day</quote>; and</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H643246572F0A4B33B27B662DE810BD33"><enum>(3)</enum><text>recognizes the benefits nonprofits bring to communities across the United States.</text></paragraph></section>
