Ms. Mace submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the Committee on Ethics


RESOLUTION

Amending the Rules of the House of Representatives to prohibit a Member, Delegate, or Resident Commissioner from cohabitating with any employee of the House of Representatives.

Resolved,

SECTION 1. Prohibition with respect to Member, Delegate, or Resident Commissioner cohabitation with House employees.

Rule XXIII of the Rules of the House of Representatives is amended—

(1) by redesignating clause 22 as clause 23; and

(2) by inserting after clause 21 the following:

“22. A Member, Delegate, or Resident Commissioner may not cohabitate with any employee of the House. This paragraph does not apply with respect to any relationship between two people who are married to each other.”.
