R. 9992</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20260730">July 30, 2026</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="M001236">Mr. Moore of North Carolina</sponsor> (for himself and <cosponsor name-id="P000620">Ms. Pettersen</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HBA00">Committee on Financial Services</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To require the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development and the Administrators of the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Small Business Administration to establish a memorandum of understanding to share disaster relief data and information, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HB5BD5AEE9B9B467D8389456A3CE60FF4" style="OLC"><section id="H3B104A8CAD1D44B4B8A4526A261F6008" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>HUD Disaster Information Improvement Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="HAA0885176720456493E274E47E64F43A" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Sharing of disaster relief data</header><subsection id="HF443F07F8576467689E58FE8C514FF7D"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Memorandum of understanding</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary of Housing and Urban Development shall enter into a memorandum of understanding, or other appropriate interagency agreement, with the Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Administrator of the Small Business Administration to share relevant disaster relief data for the purpose of increasing efficiency and mitigating waste, fraud, and abuse across disaster recovery programs administered by the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.</text></subsection><subsection id="HE735326E480F4F45863DCDB3F1AD4D4A"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Report</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 180 days after the date of enactment of this section, the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development shall submit to the Committee on Financial Services of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs of the Senate a report containing a description of opportunities for increased collaboration between the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and the Small Business Administration to improve Department of Housing and Urban Development efficiencies in Department of Housing and Urban Development disaster recovery programs.</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
