<section id="H2B7052CC2D91436A86E1741ADA023262" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>AI Ads Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="H9CE72A92ED5449EC965A5ABD82D3CCA9"><enum>2.</enum><header>Use of content generated by artificial intelligence as fraudulent misrepresentation of campaign authority</header> <subsection id="H4D911C83F068439B8CDB1739D339B4FC"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Fraudulent misrepresentation</header><text>Section 322(a)(1) of the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/52/30124">52 U.S.C. 30124(a)(1)</external-xref>) is amended by striking the semicolon and inserting the following: <quote>, including through the use of content generated in whole or in part with the use of artificial intelligence (generative AI);</quote>.</text></subsection>
<subsection id="HB76BBDBA66F8431C8C21E301840B387D"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Fraudulent solicitation of funds</header><text>Section 322(b)(1) of the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/52/30124">52 U.S.C. 30124(b)(1)</external-xref>) is amended by striking the semicolon and inserting the following: <quote>, including through the use of content generated in whole or in part with the use of artificial intelligence (generative AI);</quote>.</text></subsection></section> <section id="H41D24E1B0A2343A18DB474D5E726816F"><enum>3.</enum><header>Extending prohibition against fraudulent misrepresentation by candidates for purposes of damaging other candidates to fraudulent misrepresentation of candidates and committees by any person for any purpose</header> <subsection id="HB39892576A234047979F1F1527818E17"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Fraudulent misrepresentation</header><text>Section 322(a) of the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/52/30124">52 U.S.C. 30124(a)</external-xref>) is amended—</text>
<paragraph id="HCDB7D1CE229D4BD9B645F12B0EA5AAAF"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in the matter preceding paragraph (1), by striking <quote>who is a candidate for Federal office or an employee or agent of such a candidate</quote>; and</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H7C756CB3E5D648A19EDFD7F5EFD7134C"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in paragraph (1), by striking <quote>any other candidate or political party or employee or agent thereof on a matter which is damaging to such other candidate or political party or employee or agent thereof</quote> and inserting <quote>any candidate, political party, or other real or fictitious political committee or organization, or employee or agent of such a candidate, political party, or political committee or organization</quote>.</text></paragraph></subsection>
<subsection id="H0E801B37C53341999A59457C6E1BB96D"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Fraudulent solicitation of funds</header><text>Section 322(b)(1) of such Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/52/30124">52 U.S.C. 30124(b)(1)</external-xref>) is amended by striking <quote>any candidate or political party or employee or agent thereof</quote> and inserting <quote>any candidate, political party, or other real or fictitious political committee or organization, or employee or agent of such a candidate, political party, or political committee or organization</quote>.</text></subsection></section> </legis-body> </bill>
