<section id="H3ECCFD20FEEC42EFABDF57F168656EF2" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Limitation on Federal funding in contravention of the requirements of the War Powers Resolution</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The War Powers Resolution (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/50/1541">50 U.S.C. 1541 et seq.</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following:</text> <quoted-block style="OLC" id="H3E33F30778FB4151AB6C5B636E605A39" display-inline="no-display-inline"> <section id="H4702735EAD204BED8D2605F51D8580DC"><enum>11.</enum><header>Limitation on Federal funding in contravention of the requirements of this joint resolution</header> <subsection id="H0014CDEA360B4EFEAF338CD2399F86E5"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">No Federal funds available to the Department of Defense or any other Federal department or agency may be obligated or expended to introduce United States Armed Forces into hostilities, or into situations where imminent involvement in hostilities is clearly indicated by the circumstances, or to provide for the continued use of such forces in hostilities or in such situations in contravention of the requirements of this joint resolution.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H150682712EE3421C995CCA794ACEC5AE"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Exceptions</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The limitation in subsection (a) shall not apply with respect to the use of United States Armed Forces to respond to—</text> <paragraph id="H6889544AB422413E90A4A9E52FC52DED"> <enum>(1)</enum> <text display-inline="yes-display-inline">a national emergency created by an imminent attack upon the United States, its territories or possessions, or its Armed Forces; or</text>
