<section id="HA08A3531205A4D109D9523A3CF163FC2" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header>
 <text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Reducing Military Health Care Wait Times Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> 
<section id="HC5210E4C37164E19AE253E8EF5E69CB4"><enum>2.</enum><header>Findings</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The Congress finds the following:</text> <paragraph id="H3CB169A58AF449CFB46D34CE82804372"> <enum>(1)</enum> <text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Our uniformed service-members, veterans, and their families deserve high-quality, timely health care.</text>
                                    </paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H429B6B937115470889C3C413B5008A35"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The annual TRICARE Program Evaluation Report to Congress required by section 171 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1996 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/10/1073">10 U.S.C. 1073</external-xref> note) provides Congress and the public with critical information about the effectiveness of our military health care programs and identifies opportunities for improvement.</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="HCC88786CE5D0423E891265930CC3FC95"><enum>(3)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In the Fiscal Year 2024 TRICARE Program Evaluation Report of the Defense Health Agency, such Agency voluntarily provided helpful information about—</text> 
<subparagraph id="H41E7B81F0EB647E391695164DF5C7D0B"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the average number of days between the date an individual books an appointment at a military medical treatment facility and the date of such appointment; and</text></subparagraph> <subparagraph id="H62A0B9AD76984CCAACC0E98E61A5BF85"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the percentage of referrals of an individual to another health care facility that are made not later than one business day after the date on which such individual contacted the military medical treatment facility.</text></subparagraph></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H16941E0E307C49C4AA8668CAC56AA939"><enum>(4)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">This information is valuable to Congress and the public, and it should be statutorily required as part of the annual TRICARE Program Evaluation Report.</text></paragraph></section> <section id="HDA1738D506C84A248720D9EA555FD14A"><enum>3.</enum><header>Inclusion on a website of the Department of Defense of certain information with respect to a patient booking an appointment at a military medical treatment facility</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 1073b(b)(1) of title 10, United States Code, is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="H9716375DB913497DB37E46F291D0504D"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking <quote>The Secretary</quote> and inserting <quote>(A) The Secretary</quote>; and</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="HB2F88B96D07C4B1497C630C4E53FEFC2"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking <quote>Such data</quote> and all that follows and inserting the following new subparagraph:</text> 
<quoted-block style="USC" id="H005DB79ABEB8416C938E8B5ECD394E70" display-inline="no-display-inline"> 
<subparagraph id="HD0C9313290C74C69A9B7741A7D802DE9" indent="up2"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The data made available under subparagraph (A) shall include the following:</text> <clause id="HF112CEFB99DD40AEB14472495CBDCB55"><enum>(i)</enum><text>The core performance metrics adopted by the Secretary under section 728 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017 (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/114/328">Public Law 114–328</external-xref>; 130 Stat. 2234).</text></clause> 
<clause id="H3927F7CFCBB1413DAB6591B7FA1F81AC"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>The average number of days between the date an individual books an appointment at a military medical treatment facility and the date of such appointment.</text></clause> <clause id="H28C414CB328147B8AC62C2C060C57925"><enum>(iii)</enum><text>The percentage of referrals of an individual to another health care facility that are made not later than one business day after the date on which such individual contacted the military medical treatment facility.</text> </clause> </subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></section>
