<section id="H671096690A2E448295E2A28A6EABDB01" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Concealed Crime Prevention Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="H7A357F95BDE346999C50171E18521D75" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Enhanced penalty for wearing ski mask during the commission of criminal offense in District of Columbia</header> <subsection id="H72E6404EEDFE4F97BE7A5DC86CB3C152"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Title II of the District of Columbia Theft and White Collar Crime Act of 1982 (sec. 22–3601 et seq., D.C. Official Code) is amended by adding at the end the following:</text>

<section id="H8C45E063CFD1494898E4751B19352766"><enum>206.</enum><header>Enhanced penalty for wearing ski mask during the commission of criminal offense</header> 
<subsection id="HB74B75D764DC4EFAAF33F8979FCB5AB5"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">A person who wears a ski mask during the commission of criminal offense in the District of Columbia shall be subject to the following enhanced penalties in addition to any other applicable sentence for such offense:</text> <paragraph id="H79CC30EB46384260968943E4449A6BB9" commented="no"><enum>(1)</enum><text>With respect to a misdemeanor, a term of imprisonment of not less than 6 months, which shall run consecutively with any other term of imprisonment imposed for such offense.</text> </paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H2B800B31636F417CBEF2705B5CC0CAD7"><enum>(2)</enum><text>With respect to a felony, a term of imprisonment of not less than 2 years, which shall run consecutively with any other term of imprisonment imposed for such offense.</text></paragraph></subsection> <subsection id="H09D98D0A24434DDEAC9E6082FB5C6148"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Ski mask defined</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In this section, the term <quote>ski mask</quote>—</text> 
<paragraph id="HA823B47494EA446FB51217BE3074B685"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">means a balaclava or similar head covering which is worn in such a manner that only the eyes, nose, and mouth are exposed and the identity of the wearer is concealed; and</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="HB25CB4581EF641848A57594BCFC611FA"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">excludes religious headwear.</text></paragraph></subsection></section><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection> 
<subsection id="H8E1E709331CA484BA04915523B1A54FD"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Applicability</header><text>This Act, and the amendment made by this Act, shall apply with respect to a criminal offense committed in the District of Columbia on or after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text></subsection></section> </legis-body></bill>
