<section id="H3847A74FC6D749EA838421763F834408" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Educators for America Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H2639F343FA2E4055A18F543AAB6F5DC8"><enum>2.</enum><header>Teacher quality partnerships</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 202(e)(2)(B)(ii) of the Higher Education Act of 1965 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/20/1022a">20 U.S.C. 1022a(e)(2)(B)(ii)</external-xref>) is amended—</text>
<paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H545FE26F529A4230BC4030BE0BCDC96B"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by redesignating subclauses (I), (II), and (III) as items (aa), (bb), and (cc), respectively, and adjusting the margins accordingly;</text></paragraph> <paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H726E882ED58145DFB52DEABFEB0E2644"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in the matter preceding item (aa), as so redesignated, by striking <quote>shall</quote> and all that follows through <quote>characteristics:</quote> and inserting the following: “shall carry out the following:</text>

<subclause id="HEE8C628E1B254D58807DD37D0F7174F1"><enum>(I)</enum><text>Establish criteria for the selection of eligible individuals to participate in the teaching residency program based on the following characteristics:</text></subclause><after-quoted-block>; and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph> <paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HDED1FD4D37B24103B45B52BDB490A275"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following:</text>

<subclause id="H19824582FDAC49ADB51B657E60B85E96"><enum>(II)</enum><text>Prioritize the recruitment and selection of eligible individuals underrepresented in the teaching profession, including men.</text></subclause><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></section> </legis-body></bill>
