<section id="H1128D4C2707347A18247432474A9A84F" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header>
 <text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>National Fraud Enforcement Division Act of 2026</short-title></quote>.</text></section> 
<section id="H223AFB5CCC5C43CDB0CE944EEF90C126"><enum>2.</enum><header>National Fraud Enforcement Division of the Department of Justice</header> 
<subsection id="HCDEC4FC7D98E439EB74E7527A6EFFACC"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Establishment</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">There is hereby established a National Fraud Enforcement Division within the Department of Justice under the general authority of the Attorney General. The National Fraud Enforcement Division (hereinafter referred to in this title as the <quote>Division</quote>) shall be headed by an Assistant Attorney General (hereinafter in this title referred to as the <quote>Assistant Attorney General</quote>) appointed by the President, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate.</text> </subsection> <subsection id="H876BD38D2B6E4E8AB2B8716F47E05520"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Duties</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Assistant Attorney General shall—</text> 
<paragraph id="H15EE29598662402D816434F9F6FE50D1"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">lead the efforts of the Department of Justice to investigate, prosecute, and remedy fraud affecting the Federal Government, Federally funded programs, and citizens of the United States;</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H79B029F06DCF4FB1A8D17D9F04214ED2"><enum>(2)</enum><text>oversee multi-district and multi-agency fraud investigations;</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H3E143204825B42759EC99DB80390F35A"><enum>(3)</enum><text>provide advice, assistance, and direction to the United States Attorneys’ Offices on fraud-related issues;</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H1B54FC9C2D714EA7A66C897F1B675F5C"><enum>(4)</enum><text>work closely with Federal agencies and Department of Justice components to identify, disrupt, and dismantle organized and sophisticated fraud schemes across jurisdiction;</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H781498038E1242459834E49E5F377D20"><enum>(5)</enum><text>develop national enforcement priorities related to fraud;</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="HA7B5C4175FC54DCB940A67716B795B56"><enum>(6)</enum><text>propose legislative and regulatory reforms as necessary to close systematic vulnerabilities and prevent future abuses; and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H2594343A0E5B48DF9D41358ED7939779"><enum>(7)</enum><text>advise the Attorney General and Deputy Attorney General on issues involving significant, high-impact fraud investigations and prosecutions and related policy matters.</text></paragraph></subsection></section> </legis-body></bill>
