             Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure

                                 A BILL


 
  To require the Secretary of Transportation to issue regulations to 
    prohibit certain cell phone voice communications on aircraft in 
    scheduled passenger interstate or intrastate air transportation.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

    This Act may be cited as the ``Quiet Skies Act''.

SEC. 2. PROHIBITION ON CERTAIN CELL PHONE VOICE COMMUNICATIONS.

    Not later than 180 days after the date of enactment of this Act, 
the Secretary of Transportation shall issue a final rule with respect 
to the regulations required to be issued under section 41725 of title 
49, United States Code.
