(4) to support family stability and readiness of servicemembers (as defined in section 101 of the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (50 U.S.C. 3911)) during transitions; and

(5) to align homeschooling treatment more closely with existing protections tied to domicile and legal residence afforded to military families under Federal law.

SEC. 3. Treatment of compulsory education and homeschooling laws of States under Servicemembers Civil Relief Act.

(a) In general.—Title VII of the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (50 U.S.C. 4021 et seq.) is amended by adding at the end the following new section:

“(b) Definition of child.—In this section, the term ‘child’ has the meaning given such term in section 101 of title 38, United States Code.”.
