<section id="H2BF2D3C52623436385F83D4BC138665D" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Oversight of Temporary ICE Holding Cells Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="HFB768A698334426AB5734B1A60BB97CD"><enum>2.</enum><header>Prohibition on extended detention in holding rooms</header> <subsection id="H5576264E9D53453889A83662017A6E78"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary of Homeland Security may not detain an individual in a holding room for more than 12 hours.</text> </subsection> 
<subsection id="H1E83680CAF1543828BABD2B189AE3E46"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Holding room defined</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In this Act, the term <quote>holding room</quote> means a secure area used for temporary confinement of any detained individual before intake processing, institutional appointments (including court and medical appointments), release, transfer to another facility, or removal-related transportation. </text></subsection></section> </legis-body></bill>
