<section id="HC591A9335C46441796E38797551817D2" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Encouraging Public Service in Our National Parks and Public Land Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H3A5B8A08AACF4848972E6A606DC0999E"><enum>2.</enum><header>Findings</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Congress finds that—</text>
<paragraph id="HAB0CF3BDAEEF4E9DAF760A60C67E2638"><enum>(1)</enum><text>the units of the National Park System and other public land are protected for the benefit of all people of the United States; and</text></paragraph> <paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H2E60523FEB344608B5094FBB6C4651AF"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">fee-free days for units of the National Park System and other Federal recreational lands and waters—</text>
<subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H43364D7DD20D416EB6DDFAF9B031C76A"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">have been opportunities for the people of the United States to support units of the National Park System and other Federal recreational lands and waters through community service activities; and </text></subparagraph> <subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H24A4C3DF492148E3A656DF7D54D9F19A"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">should align with important dates and holidays to show our national pride and encourage volunteerism.</text></subparagraph></paragraph></section>
<section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HE87BFA7E8DD648928E94DF725DF6070A"><enum>3.</enum><header>Fee-free days for Federal recreational lands and waters</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 805(e) of the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/6804">16 U.S.C. 6804(e)</external-xref>) is amended by striking <quote>The Secretary may provide for</quote> and inserting the following:</text> <quoted-block style="OLC" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H1D80D410F04240DC9C1E59A6C975AD87"> <paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H835243E0AE1F4B57B5882E52B544761B"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Fee-free days for Federal recreational lands and waters</header><text>The Secretary shall provide for a free admission day or use of Federal recreational lands and waters on the following days each year: </text>
<subparagraph id="HA1EB121531904D63BB8458A82146D1FF"><enum>(A)</enum><text>The Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr., the third Monday in January. </text></subparagraph> <subparagraph id="H3087AE22976E47F0962250F070D1686B"><enum>(B)</enum><text>The first day of National Park Week in April.</text></subparagraph>
<subparagraph id="HD729374F11334320A7826651696F8824"><enum>(C)</enum><text>Juneteenth National Independence Day, June 19.</text></subparagraph> <subparagraph id="H6786B0E85358465281B70E50D5CCFE3E"><enum>(D)</enum><text>Great American Outdoors Day, August 4.</text></subparagraph>
<subparagraph id="H1C3F26D36E5C4F7587977FA95DA59B0A"><enum>(E)</enum><text>National Public Lands Day, the fourth Saturday in September.</text></subparagraph> <subparagraph id="HFCAF99987E0247D790825B96BEFB088B"><enum>(F)</enum><text>Veterans Day, November 11.</text></subparagraph></paragraph>
