<section id="H3C0C35BE3FF74CCB9054A61F7410EF87" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Veterans to Advanced Manufacturing Plan Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="H5F8A60C4ADB548548923E5A73F19D08A" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Veterans to advanced manufacturing plan</header> <subsection id="H36B3C48098854115AFF2270D9F0A1F9A"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 30 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Veterans Affairs shall develop and publish an action plan to be known as the <quote>Veterans to Advanced Manufacturing Plan</quote>.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H3134D8580F6B497B843B940358CE64EB"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Contents</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In developing the Veterans to Advanced Manufacturing Plan, the Secretary shall—</text> <paragraph id="H96D7107C01474BEAB0A2F37BB461772D"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">identify—</text> 
<subparagraph id="H848169FA65734824888BF9DB46A8A7D7"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">barriers that veterans face when searching for employment, during the hiring process, or in training to become advanced manufacturing employees;</text></subparagraph> <subparagraph id="H2F42263B52054E58B3591AD8A828E485"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">challenges advanced manufacturing employers face when recruiting, hiring, or retaining veterans;</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="HDD8E15524E9F465DB4AE068823DDAD7E"><enum>(C)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">regulatory burdens such employers face in the hiring of veterans as such employees;</text></subparagraph> <subparagraph id="HBEF437743B01462EA4081593BD49F5FF"><enum>(D)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">regions of the United States that have the greatest need for advanced manufacturing employees; and</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="H509AC2C9346A4082ABFC2C064C901602"><enum>(E)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">barriers and industry trends that directly or indirectly discourage veterans from pursuing, obtaining, and maintaining employment in advanced manufacturing;</text></subparagraph></paragraph> <paragraph id="H65329AADE4A240B0A0CC6FA78292126C"><enum>(2)</enum><text>highlight—</text> 
<subparagraph id="H8E8760F76AE243749A5709AAE2687245"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities that veterans possess that are critical for advanced manufacturing and any competency gaps that should be addressed;</text></subparagraph> <subparagraph id="H9848E236E9A74904AACDF88543CE3756"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">opportunities to expand or enhance existing initiatives for veterans to become advanced manufacturing employees; and</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="H2DF10CF2FB2D49EC878526E416A34A18"><enum>(C)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">ways to improve advanced manufacturing employer outreach programs and enhance existing training, mentorship, education, and advancement programs that would increase the participation and engagement of veterans in the advanced manufacturing workforce;</text></subparagraph></paragraph> <paragraph id="H0040929AD38545BFA49758EF14A98742"><enum>(3)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">recommend specific short- and long-term actions the Secretary can take to help veterans become advanced manufacturing employees; and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H91E8C187BDB24574873812EC6F6F488B"><enum>(4)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">consult with advanced manufacturing employers, institutions of higher education, and organizations representing advanced manufacturing employees.</text></paragraph></subsection></section> </legis-body></bill>
