<section id="HCE739709B55740AC84EC185ECEA030B0" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Disaster Ready Infrastructure Act of 2026</short-title></quote>.</text> </section> <section id="HE2420848EDE8478A97B193A9608CA9F8"><enum>2.</enum><header>Natural disaster vulnerability identification</header> <subsection id="HD0C4792C1EBE411BA1F36D82B8FFB64A"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Metropolitan transportation planning</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 134(i)(2) of title 23, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following:</text> 
<quoted-block style="USC" id="HB80D27819FB14A6BA87C5F691293EB0D" display-inline="no-display-inline"> 
<subparagraph id="H6FF6F449D5904F10820393D0674AEBD4"><enum>(I)</enum><header>Natural disaster vulnerability</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">An identification of—</text> <clause id="H2EBE1F303DF747F4A8DDDBF93CE8B0FD"><enum>(i)</enum><text>which existing transportation facilities are most vulnerable to any type of natural disaster that occurs frequently in the area served by the metropolitan planning organization;</text></clause> 
<clause id="HCDF225EF1CD74D199C30BDEC2B568613"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>which such facilities are most necessary to maintain operation of during a natural disaster or soon thereafter; and</text></clause> <clause id="H1AECF4B6DACA418D881AC7EFF6CDB77C"><enum>(iii)</enum><text>the improvement projects necessary to maintain such operation.</text></clause></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection> 
<subsection id="H5201999FAA81497C9E6B846CB7BE13C7"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Statewide and nonmetropolitan transportation planning</header><text>Section 135(f) of title 23, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following:</text> <quoted-block style="USC" id="H293C79AD93D64C06857057825F86C47C" display-inline="no-display-inline"> <paragraph id="H6EBB3135BD1E44F4A1653F73651051BA"><enum>(10)</enum><header>Natural disaster vulnerability</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The statewide transportation plan shall include an identification of—</text> 
<subparagraph id="H7AFC58FCB85F40A58E763A27C8E53089"><enum>(A)</enum><text>which existing transportation facilities are most vulnerable to any type of natural disaster that occurs frequently in the State;</text></subparagraph> <subparagraph id="H96FD77263DF440DCA8D4B81A97DBA65D"><enum>(B)</enum><text>which such facilities are most necessary to maintain operation of during a natural disaster or soon thereafter; and</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="HAA7D7F23D5104D8DB93D5BFF0F391360"><enum>(C)</enum><text>the improvement projects necessary to maintain such operation.</text></subparagraph></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection></section> </legis-body></bill>
