<section id="HDAFF9300A1D8423F9A57161CD0A2D7D1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Paperwork reduction waiver extension</header> <text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 609(a)(2) of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/20/1408">20 U.S.C. 1408(a)(2)</external-xref>) is amended—</text> <paragraph id="H64B236AF233F4BF4A55CE58AD01A8C01"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subparagraph (A), by inserting <quote>(which may be extended by the Secretary in accordance with subparagraph (C))</quote> after <quote>4 years</quote> ; </text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HE853F6F5619B49258EAB0EC31F976C6C"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by redesignating subparagraph (C) as subparagraph (D); and</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="HE0D55F7FAC644E1FA8AB4C59091F6379"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by inserting after subparagraph (B) the following:</text>

<subparagraph id="H13B4F5B0249F40BD955E1200995C797F"><enum>(C)</enum><header>Extension of waiver</header> 
<clause id="HCE01BA0FD8C44B429D947256E8EDEE80"><enum>(i)</enum><header>In general</header><text>The Secretary may—</text> <subclause id="H8DE660FF93BC45858A3E22C464449C15"><enum>(I)</enum><text>in accordance with clause (ii), grant an extension of the period of a waiver granted to a State under subparagraph (A); and</text></subclause> 
<subclause id="H6E164D2C67114A318EE7079D039D7DE7"><enum>(II)</enum><text>grant more than 1 such extension to a State.</text></subclause></clause> <clause id="HDDF5B9BCD2CF4BB2B104404FD5E33155"><enum>(ii)</enum><header>Period of extension</header><text>Each extension granted pursuant to clause (i) may not exceed a period of 4 years.</text></clause></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block> </paragraph></section>
