<section id="HA3FD66BDD59B46D1AEA7FC83B624CCF0" section-type="section-one" commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>1.</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>National Fossil Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="HB1B6CE42CE314E3982EBDB0AB3101C3F" commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">National fossil mammal and dinosaur of the United States</header> <subsection id="H289485260E0F48DE8D991D5D2CCECD13" commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>(a)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Designation</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline"><external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/36/3">Chapter 3</external-xref> of title 36, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following:</text>

<section id="H4897BE74C7E143339BED11AC89652BD2" commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>307.</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">National fossil mammal and dinosaur</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The fossil of—</text> <paragraph id="HE11DFA18AEF5425FAC1FA0F734D4B4F3"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the genus Mammut americanum, commonly known as the American mastodon, is the national fossil mammal; and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HFAACC59EE2AD45969185560164D79841"><enum>(2)</enum><text>the Tyrannosaurus rex is the national fossil dinosaur.</text></paragraph></section><after-quoted-block display="yes">.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection> <subsection id="H9FD04F505AF249D8812236561DFF2F81" commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>(b)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Conforming amendments</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The table of sections for <external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/36/3">chapter 3</external-xref> of title 36, United States Code, is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="HC095384691FF4733BCB0FA500D8F7736" commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in the chapter heading, by striking <quote><header-in-text level="chapter" style="USC">and bird</header-in-text></quote> and inserting <quote><header-in-text level="chapter" style="USC">bird, and fossil</header-in-text></quote>; and</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="HC9CE493D10FE42BC890A71E375316793" commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by adding at the end the following:</text>
