<section id="H71DC324F091B449D9F65762111496673" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Scipio Jones House Assessment Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="HD8B20A3EF342436D88174749C2E90DF5"><enum>2.</enum><header>Definitions</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">In this Act:</text> 
<paragraph id="HDC67FA1E707E49BDBC3BD2ECBFB830EF"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Secretary</header><text>The term <term>Secretary</term> means the Secretary of the Interior.</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H7F9059A8EFFF4D3AB6286E2DB47D47DF"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Study area</header><text>The term <term>study area</term> means the Scipio A. Jones House in Little Rock, Arkansas.</text></paragraph></section> 
<section id="H43C032349D4E46378E578F9E95E7ACE8"><enum>3.</enum><header>Scipio A. Jones House Special Resource Study</header> 
<subsection id="H954B5D7A9C834D9EBF6A06B9119C14E2"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary shall conduct a special resource study of the study area.</text></subsection> <subsection id="HBDBF50A6381C4191AC6D78999847D7CB"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Contents</header><text>In conducting the study under subsection (a), the Secretary shall—</text> 
<paragraph id="HDD7069ADDEDA405E87D7661716BEAC0D"><enum>(1)</enum><text>evaluate the national significance of the study area;</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H077A2CD75D834CF58A4F001329FCB3E7"><enum>(2)</enum><text>determine the suitability and feasibility of—</text> 
<subparagraph id="H1588C368AF89434E8DBF9D9F84ABFADA"><enum>(A)</enum><text>designating the study area as a National Historic Landmark or Affiliated Area of the National Park System; and</text></subparagraph> <subparagraph id="HE356F241E1C4492FA8E784E2DE0BF78F"><enum>(B)</enum><text>including the study area as a part of the Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site;</text> </subparagraph></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H89EF02B5DD2B4A0C8B0B2FD2C3323AAA"><enum>(3)</enum><text>consider other alternatives for preservation, protection, and interpretation of the study area by the Federal Government, State or local government entities, Tribes, or private and nonprofit organizations;</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="HD3E2C4FF49154CADA12CD83B2A9412AC"><enum>(4)</enum><text>consult with interested Federal agencies, State or local governmental entities, Tribes, private and nonprofit organizations, or any other interested individuals; and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HD70FE5C4E36948F58AF20A95A66AF56C"><enum>(5)</enum><text>identify cost estimates for any Federal acquisition, development, interpretation, operation, and maintenance associated with the alternatives.</text></paragraph></subsection> <subsection id="H583CA3476F6D4C4FB87E08378664957C"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Applicable Law</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The study required under subsection (a) shall be conducted in accordance with section 100507 of title 54, United States Code, except that the study shall not consider any options that involve Federal acquisition of lands, interests in lands, or any other property related to the study area.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H4F7AB64BF3F844D9B3A226E50A857F2D"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Report</header><text>Not later than 3 years after the date on which funds are first made available to carry out the study under subsection (a), the Secretary shall submit to the Committee on Natural Resources of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources of the Senate a report that describes—</text> <paragraph id="HF68E1ED1323445149AAE0BAF7AFFAB83"><enum>(1)</enum><text>the results of the study; and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H853E75E50C29430488F92382E6A05653"><enum>(2)</enum><text>any conclusions and recommendations of the Secretary.</text></paragraph></subsection></section> </legis-body></bill>
