<section section-type="section-one" id="H9651C6AA9D574BEAABBE3F141B96DBE2"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Precious Metals Parity Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="H5192F2439ADD4A40AD2DE067EAF7BD29"><enum>2.</enum><header>Treatment of income received by regulated investment companies from precious metals</header> <subsection id="H4F63919C3E964BEAB9A71944B861A069"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text><external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/26/851">Section 851(b)</external-xref> of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="HD268EB78BCE4425D8C84990FC8543966"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in paragraph (2)(A)—</text> <subparagraph id="H32E4A60F93504B90BA39CE9B8172FD35"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by striking <quote>or foreign currencies</quote> and inserting <quote>, foreign currencies, or precious metals</quote>, and</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="HD1383860E35C43E39956FB7BD3E59139"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by striking <quote>or currencies</quote> and inserting <quote>currencies, or precious metals</quote>, and</text></subparagraph></paragraph> <paragraph id="H8919A5C3A03D4FCFB9C6CC7660A4E9FE"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following new sentence: <quote>For purposes of paragraph (2), the term <term>precious metals</term> means any gold, silver, platinum, or palladium bullion described in section 408(m)(3)(B).</quote>.</text></paragraph> </subsection> 
<subsection id="HD7702117E76942929D9B809127BFD62C"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective date</header><text>The amendments made by this section shall apply to taxable years beginning after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text></subsection></section> </legis-body></bill>
