<section id="H1C5974C5DACC4E73B7682C45A5EEEE8D" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Sex Trafficking Demand Reduction Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="H364CCB20D6B348E39B5828993F597CA7"><enum>2.</enum><header>Amendment relating to determinations with respect to efforts of foreign countries to reduce demand for commercial sex acts under the minimum standards for the elimination of trafficking</header> <subsection id="H284D0D3CC58C41BFBDFBBAC6DA351ACC"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>Paragraph (12) of section 108(b) of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/22/7106">22 U.S.C. 7106(b)</external-xref>) is amended to read as follows:</text>

<paragraph id="H9CCEB43800A640468D225F25825C21B6"><enum>(12)</enum><text>Whether the government of the country has made serious and sustained efforts to—</text> <subparagraph id="H51A57E7E856A4275A7B5882103D1D2AA"><enum>(A)</enum><text>prohibit the purchase of commercial sex acts to the extent such prohibition is within the authority of the central government or implement a policy against the purchase of commercial sex acts to the extent that prohibition is not within the authority of the central government;</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="HB5DC8F2A78704575BBC318205CBED0F7"><enum>(B)</enum><text>educate buyers of commercial sex on how traffickers exploit prostituted persons for human trafficking; and</text></subparagraph> <subparagraph id="H725FA5EEFDF143B785057C2A3180ADE0"><enum>(C)</enum><text>reduce demand for participation in international sex tourism by nationals of the country.</text></subparagraph></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection> 
<subsection id="HE570EAD6CCC143419216686E45D153F9"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective date</header><text>The amendment made by subsection (a) takes effect on the date of the enactment of this Act and applies with respect to determinations under subsection (a)(4) of section 108 of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000 that are made on or after such date of enactment.</text></subsection></section> </legis-body></bill>
