<section id="H68C1F3BB81A94F008CF2CC32324563EB" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header>
 <text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>End Fraudulent Filings that Interfere with Elections Act</short-title></quote> or the <quote><short-title>EFFIE Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> 
<section id="H700158257C8C473C9FD797C726502C34"><enum>2.</enum><header>Penalties for certain fraudulent activity with respect to campaigns for Federal office</header> 
<subsection id="H09947C175D9F4C13B239513FF9D4F01D"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Restrictions</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 324 of the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/52/30126">52 U.S.C. 30126</external-xref>) is amended to read as follows:</text> <quoted-block style="OLC" id="H2498C61449324F43B474C1393AED9D99" display-inline="no-display-inline"> <section id="H37D34BCD256341EE9A9B9433F3B92E40"><enum>324.</enum><header>Fraudulent activity with respect to ballot access in an election for Federal office</header> <subsection id="H9E7554987925412B98084BAF9DEE7152"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">No person who is seeking to be a candidate in an election for Federal office or an employee or agent of such a person shall knowingly fraudulently sign any materials or documentation required to be submitted as a condition of ballot access for such election.</text> </subsection> 
<subsection id="H34ED280D5E0E41558C5217D37C34BA39"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Penalties</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Any violation of this section shall be a felony punishable upon conviction by a fine in any amount not exceeding $250,000, or imprisonment of not more than 5 years, or both.</text> </subsection></section><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection> <subsection id="H1C8ABDE7999943D7A9CCCA0BB000C5D4"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective date</header><text>This section and the amendment made by this section shall take effect on the date of the enactment of this Act.</text></subsection></section>
