<section id="H03AC17E01DC448E983E5239A562A030F" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>EV Charging Accessibility Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="HF259DB13C4844B53B81D1018C986190A" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Rulemaking to adopt recommendations for accessibility of electric vehicle charging stations<editorial/></header> <subsection id="HF29D7F6E98DB495584672A713142F6FC"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 18 months after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board shall finalize the proposed rule issued on September 3, 2024, and titled <quote>American With Disabilities Act and Architectural Barriers Act Accessibility Guidelines; EV Charging Stations</quote> (89 Fed. Reg. 71215).</text></subsection>
<subsection id="H0F7F015C74D04374BF4F61137330A005"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Requirements</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board shall include in the final rule required under this section the minimum standards for electric vehicle charging stations (as the term <quote>charging station</quote> is defined in section 680.104 of title 23, Code of Federal Regulations) and accessibility guidelines for such stations.</text></subsection> <subsection id="H5DFFA76B388A4E089FDBB4D77F0281ED"><enum>(c)</enum><header>No delay in finalizing rule</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">If, upon the expiration of the deadline described in subsection (a), the Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board has not finalized the rule required under this section, the proposed rule described in subsection (a) shall be deemed to be a final rule, and a notice of such final rule shall be promptly published in the Federal Register.</text></subsection>
<subsection id="HF3E0926CC5E24D5A8DA0E83B6AC97327"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Adoption of regulations</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 180 days after a final rule is published pursuant to subsection (a), the Secretary of Transportation and the Attorney General shall issue such regulations as are necessary to adopt such guidelines.</text></subsection></section> </legis-body></bill>
