<section id="H1BF8BA04141341B6A0D382D9F04C431F" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Homegrown Defense Act of 2026</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="H8068845FD0694739BB3C43F593DBBF22"><enum>2.</enum><header>Oversight of Department of Defense compliance with certain requirements for domestic food supply chains</header> <subsection id="H9A57F999AA704F398A8567F9B2847C12"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Audits</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 90 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, and on a quarterly basis thereafter, the Inspector General of the Department of Defense shall conduct an audit to determine the extent of compliance with the requirements of section 4862 of title 10, United States Code, with respect to the procurement of items described in subsection (b)(1)(A) of such section.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="HC0E4FE0646ED48B3BA1C8F2F93681ECF"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Reports to Congress</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 60 days after the conclusion of each audit under subsection (a), the Inspector General shall submit to the Committees on Armed Services of the House of Representatives and the Senate a report containing the results of such audit.</text></subsection></section> </legis-body></bill>
