<section id="H99DC30ECB46544CDAAE82B8E4DF24742" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as <quote><short-title>Domenic and Ed’s Law</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="HA8E70F5673F14C0AB000E5BB30AA433E" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Repayment of loans to parents</header> <subsection id="H26964B0884154EDEBCC93A3D479C98D2"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 437(d) of the Higher Education Act of 1965 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/20/1087">20 U.S.C. 1087(d)</external-xref>) is amended by inserting <quote>or becomes permanently and totally disabled (as determined in accordance with regulations of the Secretary), or if the student is unable to engage in any substantial gainful activity by reason of any medically determinable physical or mental impairment that can be expected to result in death, has lasted for a continuous period of not less than 60 months, or can be expected to last for a continuous period of not less than 60 months,</quote> after <quote>dies,</quote>.</text></subsection>
<subsection id="HC7B2E4B29B634BE38DEEECE40240DAE4"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Applicability</header><text>The amendment made by subsection (a) shall apply to any outstanding loan received by a parent before, on, or after the date of the enactment of this Act, and without regard to the onset date of the disability or impairment.</text></subsection></section> </legis-body></bill>
