<section id="H0D5EF13CE1E74BD48750815AF0386B0B" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Active Transportation for Public Lands Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="H8344F0D3498744C59D259F1CCF199B7A" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Federal lands and tribal transportation programs</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 201 of title 23, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following:</text>

<subsection id="HE39315C1E2B740A38BE03960319E3294"><enum>(f)</enum><header>Set aside for active transportation</header>
<paragraph id="H6EDBEB3D77504C0FB2716CE0D65DFC49"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In general</header><text>To carry out active transportation, the Secretary shall for each fiscal year combine and use not less than 5 percent of the funds authorized for programs under sections 203 and 204.</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H28E74DC437CA4E7CA846FDF18E58EBEA"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Active transportation defined</header><text>In this subsection, the term <quote>active transportation</quote> means any of the following projects or activities:</text>
<subparagraph id="H73593754FAC54185AE5899656278F43B"><enum>(A)</enum><text>Construction, planning, and design of on-road and off-road trail facilities for pedestrians, bicyclists, and other nonmotorized forms of transportation, including sidewalks, bicycle infrastructure, pedestrian and bicycle signals, traffic calming techniques, lighting and other safety-related infrastructure, and transportation projects to achieve compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/12101">42 U.S.C. 12101 et seq.</external-xref>).</text></subparagraph> <subparagraph id="HA9B89BEBFFAF47159BFAA5980F6DF4CD"><enum>(B)</enum><text>Construction planning, and design of infrastructure-related projects and systems that will provide safe routes for non-drivers, including children, older adults, and individuals with disabilities, to access public accommodations and points of interest.</text></subparagraph>
<subparagraph id="HED5FD61C62934D4A8CE766EBB7EFAC3A"><enum>(C)</enum><text>Conversion and use of abandoned railroad corridors for trails for pedestrians, bicyclists, or other nonmotorized transportation users.</text></subparagraph></paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section> </legis-body></bill>
