<section id="HCD4BB990D4EC4CC1B3E354D9FB1E4C62" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Western Tribal Water Act of 2026</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HBFF5B3114E414EAC97A28C37C4D2D945"><enum>2.</enum><header>Findings</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Congress finds that—</text>
<paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HA88E7F2070514896A8830900E0738BFB"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the Upper Colorado River Basin is home to several Indian Tribes that face a variety of challenges for water supply reliability, including over $100,000,000 in water infrastructure needs;</text></paragraph> <paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HFE675933CCEE4035A53363C9BB2F123D"><enum>(2)</enum><text>the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe in particular has a project with an estimated cost of $50,000,000 to fix aging drinking water delivery infrastructure in southwestern Colorado; and</text></paragraph>
<paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H4E42FBFF15B348418E07AA520D6E1099"><enum>(3)</enum><text>the Indian Reservation Drinking Water Program under section 2001 of the America's Water Infrastructure Act of 2018 (42 U.S.C. 300j–3c note; <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/115/270">Public Law 115–270</external-xref>) helps Indian Tribes in other drought-stricken basins across the Western United States improve their drinking water supplies and other water services.</text></paragraph></section> <section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HCC49E63A1E1146D7B0D49465ACE576C0"><enum>3.</enum><header>Indian Reservation Drinking Water Program</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 2001 of the America's Water Infrastructure Act of 2018 (42 U.S.C. 300j–3c note; <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/115/270">Public Law 115–270</external-xref>) is amended—</text>
<paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HEE2576058D974264BA69533366AE3981"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subsection (c)(1)—</text> <subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HA585AD96EA4841129FAB4FCC156183B1"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in subparagraph (D), by striking <quote>and</quote> at the end;</text></subparagraph>
<subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H10460C55955D40E9A06B8369CC6829DB"><enum>(B)</enum><text>in subparagraph (E), by striking the period at the end and inserting <quote>; and</quote>; and</text></subparagraph> <subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H606F0DDCB4E94B20A7823CE6229F5DB9"><enum>(C)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following:</text>

<subparagraph id="HC5EF840FFD5E4F119C6A7B2292828278"><enum>(F)</enum><text>10 eligible projects described in subsection (b) that are within the Upper Colorado River Basin.</text></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>; and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subparagraph></paragraph> <paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H4C2CE93FB7EA400D969C856B98F5503E"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in subsection (g)—</text>
<subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HE712422321424B36A28591035D9C1DB9"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in paragraph (1), by striking <quote>and</quote> at the end;</text></subparagraph> <subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H9BA0096DCD4A490D93EA6F22A1916451"><enum>(B)</enum><text>in paragraph (2), by striking the period at the end and inserting <quote>; and</quote>; and</text></subparagraph>
<subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H8219B3316BA642DD8DEA5A12D40C409D"><enum>(C)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following:</text> <quoted-block id="HA780D7B3241C43838964E259EBF7C8A2" style="OLC" act-name=""> <paragraph id="H877A4DFA9BF748C3924CBEAC42AB9F5A"><enum>(3)</enum><text>$60,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2027 and 2028.</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subparagraph></paragraph></section>
