<section id="H892D632CC3C7476E809B239BB64EFC93" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Stop DEI Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="HFBB4A39A43B947E988379D2F5B985B7F"><enum>2.</enum><header>Prohibition on considering race, sex, ethnicity, color, or national origin in violation of civil rights laws</header> <subsection id="H06749185411E40A19D57C2B679FC4B74"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Notwithstanding any other provision of law, no funds may be made available under an applicable program to an institution of higher education that considers race, sex, ethnicity, color, or national origin in ways that violate the Nation’s civil rights laws.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="HB611D961DE8B4635BFC4ECC6EEB4491D"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Definitions</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In this Act:</text> <paragraph id="HA09F2C98D5494FFAAAA9D7956F54B15F"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Applicable program</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The term <term>applicable program</term> has the meaning given such term in section 400 of the General Education Provisions Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/20/1221">20 U.S.C. 1221</external-xref>).</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H5808A8BC69D34270AD544B7BF9A93CE8"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Institution of higher education</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The term <term>institution of higher education</term> has the meaning given such term in section 102 of the Higher Education Act of 1965 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/20/1002">20 U.S.C. 1002</external-xref>).</text></paragraph> </subsection></section> </legis-body></bill>
