<section id="HEFD6E76846754F35BADECD4DB75C6123" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header>
 <text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Original Legislation to Give TSA Employees a Raise</short-title></quote>.</text></section> 
<section id="H995B3F769C02429997467D0AD4A5ED9F"><enum>2.</enum><header>TSA employee pay increase</header> 
<subsection id="HBF9733BB5DD64C8587671F66A2F6841D"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Beginning on the first day of the applicable pay period—</text> <paragraph id="HB1F8DC5BA8264DED93A6B38F715D25BD"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the annual rate of basic pay for each career employee shall be increased by 15 percent; and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H14C5E225EAD64433BC734AF31913C9D4"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the annual rate of basic pay for each pay band under the Transportation Security Administration Core Compensation System shall be increased by 15 percent.</text></paragraph></subsection> <subsection id="H5EF9B5CE53F54173A372AD30720F45AC"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Definitions</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In this section:</text> 
<paragraph id="H450AC0591E3E4F72ACDC33608157096C"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Applicable pay period</header><text>The term <quote>applicable pay period</quote> means the pay period that—</text> <subparagraph id="H1037301590654E958826FA0D6C1FD408"><enum>(A)</enum><text>is the first pay period beginning on or after the date of the enactment of this Act; and</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="H750726E0CF444EC8AC2B4D2712188AB4"><enum>(B)</enum><text>occurs prior to the beginning of the second pay period beginning after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text></subparagraph></paragraph> <paragraph id="H244F28CC685A417B86026AA206DC444C"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Career employee</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The term <quote>career employee</quote> means any career agent or officer of the Transportation Security Administration who is not a senior executive, a career appointee, or a senior career employee (as such terms are defined in section 114(n)(2) of title 49, United States Code) of the Administration.</text></paragraph></subsection> </section>
